Summary:

Easterseals serves 33,000 clients annually in programs across Chicagoland and the Rockford Region in Illinois and Northwest, Indiana, proudly employing over 600 dedicated professionals since 1936. We offer a wide-range of programs, some of which include therapeutic schools and adult programs for individuals living with autism spectrum disorder and other intellectual disabilities, inclusive early childhood education, early intervention, home visiting, training and more.

The behavior analyst acts as the primary case manager for all client behavior treatment plans in the Chicago and Tinley Park Adult Program.

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all mandated reporter and OIG guidelines at all times.
  • Complete functional behavioral assessment for client IPPs at least one week prior to scheduled BRC, HRC, or IPP meetings and throughout the program year in accordance with established timelines.
  • Completes one of three levels of functional assessments in order to determine function of behaviors prior to writing behavior intervention plans for clients on caseload. (Level 1: informal assessment utilizing questionnaires and interviews of program staff; Level 2: descriptive assessment utilizing observation of client across varies times of day and across time; Level 3 analogue/experimental assessment presenting antecedent stimuli and consequences).
  • Write individual behavior support plans and update behavior support plans as needed.
  • Monitor data collection and graph data, assess, and report results.
  • Complete monthly progress reports for client caseload.
  • Model and train on behavior interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and organized client notes, data, and reports.
  • Track 56U billing notes, by client, and keep a record on database for billing.
  • Review billing and ensure appropriate billing is submitted to Finance Department for all clients by the 1st of the month.
  • Review incident reports and provide feedback/make recommendations when necessary.
  • Ensure agency is in compliance with standards from external governmental agencies.
  • Participates in the intake process and makes recommendations to Program Manager.
  • Intervenes with clients when they are in crisis and need behavioral intervention.
  • Conduct and document monthly check-in meetings with programs throughout the school year.
  • Monitor all behavior intervention plans for clients on caseload on an ongoing basis.
  • Develop emergency behavior treatment plans for clients on caseload as needed.
  • Conduct preference and other assessments for current and new clients.
  • Participate in IPP and other scheduled meetings for clients on caseload.
  • Participate in all scheduled clinical meetings.
  • Interact with administration and program staff regarding clinical recommendations written.
  • Annually attend and provide professional development opportunities directly related to serving adults with disabilities, particularly those diagnosed with autism, behavior management techniques, evidenced-based practices (ABA, Positive Behavior Support, etc.), etc.
  • Participate in all scheduled in-house trainings throughout the year.
  • Participate in all scheduled medical case review meetings for clients on caseload.
  • Orientate new staff members on behavior programs.
  • Provide on-going in-servicing/training to staff members on behavioral management strategies and interventions.
  • In conjunction with the Program Coordinators and Manager, stablish and maintain consistent communication with the parents/guardians of clients on caseload.
  • Provide support, resources, and recommendations for both programs as needed.
  • Participate in agency-wide behavior review committee meetings and human rights committee meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst (BCABA) certification required.
  • Candidate must hold at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services (or related major).

 
Experience Required:

  • Required experience must include at least one (1) year experience completing comprehensive functional assessments and behavior support plans and a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities and co-occurring challenging behaviors. 
  • Experience in development and implementation of positive behavior support plans based upon principles of behavior analysis.
  • Knowledge of DHS guidelines for behavioral intervention.
  • Knowledge of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). 


Vehicle/Transportation Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license.
  •  Auto insurance.
  •  Reliable vehicle.

 
Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to perform all functions necessary to obtain certification in agency required crisis prevention and intervention training and CPR.
  • Ability to multi-task in a high stress environment.
  • Ability to interact with diverse personalities.
