We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Development Director, Go Red For Women within our Greater Phoenix Division.

The Senior Business Development Director is responsible for advancing the American Heart Association's mission through the planning, management and implementation of the annual Go Red For Women campaign – the AHA's national movement to end heart disease and stroke in women.

This position will be directly responsible for the cultivation of corporate sponsorships, individual donors and volunteer recruitment to meet an overall fundraising goal of $1.1M.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Prospecting, soliciting, closing and stewarding high-level corporate and individual donors, ensuring sufficient depth for revenue generation
  • Developing and implementing year-round cultivation plans ensuring superior donor relations
  • Driving the ongoing process of identifying, recruiting, engaging and activating an influential, financially strong and diverse volunteer leadership base to support sustained campaign growth
  • Building recruitment committees and executive leadership committees to identify and engage high level event Chairs and working committees
  • Communicating proactively and timely with VP, Development, SVP and other internal and external partners
  • Day-to-day management of the Business Development Director and Coordinator including onboarding, training, professional development, performance management and coaching
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 3-5 years of successful experience in fundraising, sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity
  • 1+ years of experience in a management capacity
  • Demonstrated track record in building effective, collaborative teams of staff and/or volunteers
  • Proven ability to think strategically, analyze market data and identify key trends
  • Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends on occasion
