The Manager, Women United Affinity Group, is highly organized, self-directed, and has significant relationship building skills. The Manager will ensure that the mission of United Way Suncoast is reflected in the group’s activities and will develop strong working relationships with Women United volunteer advisors and senior leadership staff who have Women United responsibilities.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Serve as the regional staff manager for United Way Suncoast’s Women United, implement strategies to deepen members’ engagement with United Way Suncoast, and grow the group’s membership through identification and engagement of a targeted pool of prospects. Meet goals for financial growth and engagement for Women United, determined in conjunction with the Chief Development Officer. Specific activities include:

  • Create a prioritized prospect list mined from United Way Suncoast’s donor data base, develop a Moves Management path for each prospect, implement paths and manage engagement.
  • Collaborate with other resource development staff in acquiring new members in and out of the workplace.
  • Work with regional volunteer Advisory Councils to strategize and formulate signature issues which resonate with members and prospects, while ensuring that the mission of United Way Suncoast is reflected in the Women United mission.
  • Coordinate regular Advisory Council meetings in Northern and Southern regions.
  • Develop and manage the business plan and calendar for Women United, thereby guiding the work and establishing the function of each regional group.
  • Communicate clearly, regularly and effectively to build coordination, teamwork, enthusiasm and a sense of common purpose among members.
  • Manage the Women United budget with emphasis on securing sponsorships to fund events.
  • Plan and coordinate signature events, meetings and volunteer activities.
  • Prepare data-based reports to measure progress, drive future success and develop suggestions to further the effectiveness of the group’s activities and strategies.
  • Thorough and timely update of CRM data base.
  • Collaborate with appropriate staff and/or United Way Worldwide to coordinate the creation of accurate and branded collateral for Women United.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and departments.
  • Provide guidance and direction for volunteer projects selected by Women United Advisory Councils to support the mission of United Way Suncoast.
  • Maintain a caseload of Women United donors to cultivate and steward.
  • Serve as a Resource Development representative on internal project teams as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, safety and health regulations.
Educational Background: 
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree preferably in business, marketing, or a communications discipline.

The ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment; the ability to set and achieve short and long-term goals.  A high degree of personal responsibility and integrity.
