In coordination with the Director of Financial Stability Strategy, and in collaboration with United Way staff, specific VISTA responsibilities include: (1) Program Assessment: evaluating the effectiveness of the individual programs as well as the collective portfolio of programs, focusing primarily on the constructing training program. (2) Service Mapping: identifying geographical service gaps. (3) Research: identify best practices and make recommendations for improved program effectiveness, focusing primarily on social enterprise for the homeless. (4) Volunteer Recruitment: ensure programs have access to volunteers to expand and sustain programming, focusing primarily on VITA and Mission United. (5) Resource Development: help research and develop strategies to leverage financial support of programs, focusing primarily on transportation to work and the construction training program.
