We have an exciting opportuntiy for a Senior Business Development Director to join our growing Puget Sound Division. Under direction of the Puget Sound Vice President of Development, the Senior Business Development Director will oversee our Seattle and Tacoma Heart & Stroke Ball events. In this role you will lead and implement the campaign for the region as well as supervise a Business Development Director.

This player/coach will be responsible for leading and managing the cultivation of corporate sponsorships, individual donors and volunteer recruitment to meet an overall team fundraising goal of $1.2M

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Lead and execute the Puget Sound Heart Ball campaigns (Seattle and Tacoma) and manage a business development director to meet/exceed this year’s annual revenue goal
  • Lead effort in identification, cultivation and recruitment of C-suite and Upper Level Management volunteer leaders
  • Develop and implement a plan of revenue growth through key fundraising events, strategic market partnerships and philanthropic donors
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to your direct report to ensure their success
  • Develop and implement year-round cultivation plans ensuring superior donor relations, with a strong focus on driving new business.
  • Conduct daily calls and meetings in assigned market, developing mutually satisfying relationships with corporations and top-level donors
  • Attend and participate in frequent internal meetings focused on strategies to meet fundraising and mission goal
  • Day to day management of the campaign, including onboarding, training, professional development, performance management and coaching
  • Communicates timely with VP of Development, Executive Director and internal and external customers
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 5 years of successful experience in fundraising, sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a management capacity. Must have experience in managing a direct report with a revenue goal
  • Demonstrated track record in building effective, collaborative teams of staff and/or volunteers
  • Proven ability to think strategically, analyze market data and identify key trends
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and social skills
  • Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the c-suite level and a large portfolio of sales
  • Knowledge of corporate and community networks
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally and to work evenings and weekends on occasion
