United Way of King County is actively recruiting for a National Service Program Coordinator who will be responsible for assisting in developing strategies that utilize National Service resources to alleviate poverty in King County. This position leads the AmeriCorps VISTA team and oversees training, compliance, and special projects for the entire United Way National Service project portfolio.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Assist in developing the overall strategy for utilizing VISTA resources to address poverty, achieve United Way priorities, and strengthen United Way’s role as a local leader in National Service.
- Develops, oversees, and administers RFP process for VISTA placements to ensure alignment with United Way priorities and maximize impact of National Service resources.
- Collaborates with internal and external partners to develop high quality VISTA projects that support United Way’s goal of building a community where people have homes, students graduate, and families are financially stable.
- Maintains United Way and sub-grantee program compliance to secure National Service resources and manages and supports United Way’s National Service teams to maximize their impact
- Oversees and administers hiring process in coordination with individual sites and CNCS State Office utilizing the AmeriCorps online system.
- Develops and coordinates delivery of high-quality training to National Service members in partnership with Subject Matter Experts and external training providers.
- Communicate impact of National Service by sharing information, updates, and stories with UWKC staff and other web/blog publications.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience.
Skills/Experience:
- Proven experience coordinating and leading group activities, trainings, and classes/workshops.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Demonstrated team player who is resourceful and proactive
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse staff across teams in a collaborative, constructive and effective manner
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft applications required.
Education and/or Experience:
- Must have knowledge of AmeriCorps policies and procedures.
- Three years’ experience in supervision, recruitment, grant administration, project management, volunteer coordination, or other relevant field.
Compensation/Benefits:
The recruitment range is from $ 48,500 to $ 51,500.
