United Way of King County, whose mission is to bring caring people together to give, volunteer, and take action to help people in need and solve our community’s toughest challenges, is seeking a dynamic Executive Assistant (EA) to the President and CEO.

The EA performs a variety of general administrative functions, provides administrative support for the Chief Operating Officer (COO), works closely with Senior Leadership Team, Board of Directors, other high-level volunteers and the Executive Committee, by constructing meeting agendas, maintaining records, and updating and archiving information such as logic models and other documents that are part of the Office of the President.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provides administrative support for the OOP including travel arrangements and monthly expense reports, coordination of quarterly dashboard, balanced scorecard, logic model, and strategic plan.
  • Supports the President/CEO, the Senior Leadership Team, Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Governance Committee, and other Board Committees, by coordinating and publishing meeting schedules, work plans, meeting minutes, agendas, and related materials.
  • Maintains the President/CEO’s and COO’s calendars, provides a detailed daily itinerary folder, including supporting materials for individual meetings.
  • Assists in budget preparation and tracking for President/CEO’s cost center and other organizational expenses.
  • Provides logistical support for All-Staff meetings, Management Advisory Council (MAC), and other internal meetings hosted by the President/CEO, such as Lunch & Learns.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, specializing in business, office or administrative management.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Demonstrated ability to perform a wide variety of complex administrative procedures and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independence of action and sound judgment in administrative matters, and use discretion, tact, and courtesy
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, analyze essentials, and implement action for desired results
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Advanced knowledge of grammatical composition and proofreading skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle a broad scope of confidential and proprietary information
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse staff across teams in a collaborative, constructive, and effective manner; strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft applications required; advanced level preferred

Education and/or Experience:

  • Five (5) years’ demonstrated office administration experience is required.
  • Experience working with executives and high-level volunteers, preferred.
