United Way of King County is launching a campaign to reduce poverty by increasing college completion rates for students of color, working parents, and first-generation college students. Our program provides coordinated access to benefits, financial interventions, and housing services by creating Benefits Hubs across on college campuses. The Bridge To Finish Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating these efforts across the region.  This position works closely with internal staff and community partner agencies and colleges to coordinate strategic mobilization of resources, community services alignment, and scaling of the program to serve more students and serve them better. The position will be responsible for coordinating strategies that will provide 10,000 community college students with Bridge to Finish financial interventions.

This is a time-limited position that is dependent upon continued grant funding. Funding is projected to end June 30, 2024 but may be continued beyond that date. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Supports Serve WA and CNCS grant compliance including adhering to reporting requirements, tracking timesheets and other documentation, and navigating broader AmeriCorps policies.
  • Actively participates in efforts to reduce racial disparities and systems of oppression.
  • Coordinates service delivery processes with multiple non-profit partners to monitor service quality, uptake at sites, scheduling, and day to day troubleshooting
  • Serves as a first line of defense decision-maker on individual student service delivery issues when they arise, using discretion appropriately and responsibly.
  • Coordinates data analysis efforts for the program, ensuring quality assurance and timeliness of submissions of student level data and compilation of data for analysis.
  • Leads and mobilizes college partners around regional Bridge to Finish strategies, such as a financial aid completion campaign, to increase the number of students accessing services on each campus.
  • Manages the creation, use, and improvements of Bridge to Finish service delivery platforms, such as our case management software, online appointment scheduler, and broad digital communications with students.
  • Leads in the identification and implementation of volunteer activities across program sites to engage one time and ongoing volunteers.
  • Provides support to program leadership and participate in fundraising, advocacy, data analysis, research, and building regional and national partnerships.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training or experience is required. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven organizational skills.
  • Strong coaching and team leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, team building, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, plus excellent public speaking skills.
  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office.
  • Proven ability to multi-task; effective time and project management skills; demonstrated ability to independently plan projects from inception to execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex relationships, work within bureaucratic systems, and identify nuances opportunities to move projects forward knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, online platforms.
  • Must have two years’ experience in project/program coordination, administration, implementation, and scaling social service programs.
  • Background in project management, volunteer coordination or other relevant field preferred.
  • Knowledge of racial equity, determinants of poverty, and social justice frameworks and commitment to addressing racism at the individual and structural level desired.
  • Prior knowledge of student barriers and community resources preferred, as well as knowledge of income supports, public benefits, and financial stability best practices.
  • Experience coordinating, implementing, and scaling social service programs and passion for helping college students achieve their academic goals, and experience working with AmeriCorps members and within a college helpful, but not required.
Compensation/Benefits: 

The annual recruitment range is $50,500-$52,500, depending on successful experience and prior accomplishments.
