Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Direct major giving strategies in tandem with the Board, CDO, CEO and COO
  • Manage a team of individual giving and stewardship staff
  • Develop cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies to support gift club activities including, but not limited to, Tocqueville Society, Emerging Leaders, Women United and Legacy Circle throughout the year
  • Create new strategies for stewarding donor constituencies such as retirees, Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, and others
  • Partner with Marketing department on development of collateral materials
    Direct and create major giving events plan, inclusive of stewardship and cultivation events
  • Participate on cross functional teams and be a member of the Development management team.
    Invest time and focus in developing, designing and implementing strategies for utilizing our CRM, Salesforce, for managing donor research, event attendance, communications, etc.
  • Act as a department Salesforce champion, driving adoption and accountability across the Development department
  • Consult with other United Way major markets on best practices in individual giving
    Manage volunteer committees (board and non-board) as assigned by CDO
Educational Background: 
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required.  
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5-7 years of philanthropic experience within a non-profit organization or relationship management experience within the corporate sector including a demonstrated track record of success in the
    areas of staff management, project management, budget analysis and goal setting, and revenue generation.
  • Experience working with a portfolio of high capacity individuals and developing strategic solicitation strategies for donors of $10,000 or more annually.
  • Experience in producing large and small events.
  • Experience with design and execution of marketing materials.
  • Experience managing, recruiting and training professional development staff.
  • Advanced knowledge of fundraising strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating both across organizations and within a department.
  • Computer skills commensurate with responsibilities (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems).
    Previous Salesforce experience in a non-profit environment is a plus.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $110,000.00 - 130,000.00 Salary Exempt
