Under general guidance, leads an area of clinical research relevant for ESSC and manages a number of pertinent research projects. Mentors and supervises Associate Researchers and/or other ESSC associates who are conducting research, with the goal of disseminating the findings through various means. Also serves as a statistics consultant for various research projects.
Basic Responsibilities:- Develops and oversees 10-15 ongoing relevant research projects. Write grants in collaboration with grant team to obtain funding for projects.
- Manages team of Associate Researchers and Research Assistants. May also manage one Program Manager (based on location and clinical needs in that area).
- Conducts up to 4 behavioral assessments each month as required, based upon program needs.
- Submits study proposals to ESSC’s Institutional Review Board (IRB) and provides mentorship to clinical and/or research team associates.
- Disseminates findings and presents results at a minimum of two professional conferences per year (as speaker in at least one). Submits at least one protocol for publication in a peer-reviewed journal per year.
- Serves as statistics consultant for the organization and remains current with various inferential statistics methods and software tools (e.g. SPSS).
- Establishes collaborative research relationships with various universities and research institutions.
- Serves as an IRB committee member and manages at least one research division sub-system.
- PhD or master’s degree in behavior analysis, statistics, or in an area with a strong emphasis in behavior analysis or statistics.
- Must possess and maintain BCBA-D or BCBA certification or other certifications required to conduct behavioral assessments.
- Must have a primary line of research or area of expertise, as evidenced by at least one experimental publication in a peer-reviewed journal; demonstrated success in obtaining research grants and securing research funding; successfully defended a dissertation or thesis.
- A minimum of 1 year experience supervising other researchers’ projects, as a thesis/dissertation committee member or in other mentorship capacities
- Demonstrated competency in inferential statistics.
- Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups.
- Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures and regulations; ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and a TB test.
- Ability to provide proof of Measles, Pertussis, and Flu vaccines or doctor exemption for immunizations.
- Ability to travel locally with incumbent’s own, reliable transportation; maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration.
