United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County (UWSA) is seeking to fill two positions of a Community Engagement and Logistics Manager to coordinate the community engagement, communications and logistics strategies of the Impact Councils.  UWSA has redesigned its investment model to strategically align with four priorities: Ready Children, Successful Students, Strong Individuals and Families, and Safety Net. Utilizing a structured form of collaboration informed by the Results-Based Accountability framework, UWSA has organized into four Impact Councils that will focus on collective impact by bringing together partners from different sectors to work on a common agenda for solving problems specific to each of the four priority areas. Initially, monthly aggregate program data will be collected into an existing reporting platform, while UWSA prepares to move all partners to a shared client management system to both manage the data and to evaluate the collective impact of each Impact Council’s work.  Under the direction of the Impact Council Director(s), this position is responsible for engaging and communicating with donors, agencies, volunteers and the general public about the work of the Impact Council. This position will assist the Impact Council Director in overall project coordination, communications and logistical support. 

We are looking for an individual with strong networking and organizational skills.  This person will have knowledge of the San Antonio community and the ability to work and communicate with a diverse set of stakeholders (clients, donors, field experts, lead volunteers, other United Ways, other funders) in a timely, professional manner.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Coordination and communication of the Impact Council’s meeting and training calendar. 
  • Manage all logistics related to the Impact Council work, to include meeting notifications, meeting/event logistics, meeting/event notes, maintenance of rosters etc.
  • Collaborate with Impact Council Co-Leads, Impact Council Partners and the UW Marketing team in the design and development of promotional information, presentations, and events to include but not be limited to brochures, pamphlets, newsletters, community events, and publicity promoting activities of the Impact Council
  • Ensure ongoing communications with all United Way departments, including Resource Development, Accountability, Grants, Emerging Leaders Council, Women United, Volunteer Center, 211, Labor, Navigators, and Media and Marketing.
  • Collaborate with a team of individuals with like responsibilities to ensure consistency in logistics, communication and messaging across all Impact Councils.
  • Network with Impact Council partners to ensure access and support of the community’s identified needs
  • Develop and implement referral policies and processes to ensure that clients are connected to Impact Council partner services or other community services if appropriate
  • Serve as staff point of contact for communications including printed materials, website, newsletters, and social media.
  • Assist in the development, coordination and implementation of outreach events and activities
  • Other duties as assigned to insure project implementation.
Educational Background: 
College degree in related field preferred. Demonstrated experience in related field may substitute college credit.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Knowledge of the San Antonio community and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, community partners, donors, and volunteers
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and complete projects in an appropriate timeframe
  • Ability to work within Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including development of content relevant to Impact Councils. Work with the marketing department to create, curate, and manage published content (images, video and written).
  • Basic understanding of social media platforms
  • Experience in working effectively in multicultural environments
  • Bi-lingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Three to Five years related work experience

  • The position salary range is $43,000 to $50,000; compensation commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience
  • Applicant must be able to pass a required criminal background check
  • Hours are Monday-Friday 8:15 am to 4:45pm with occasional evening and weekend hours
