The Staff Accountant works under the direction of the CFO focusing primarily on performing the essential functions, not limited to, account receivables, pledge processing, donation updates, and monitoring of pledge processing for accuracy and compliance.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Accounts receivable duties
- Post cash receipts to pledge receivables
- Review, research, and apply all non-pledge cash received
- Process corporate, foundation, grant, and stock donations
- Process and Track Sponsorship and Event donations (reconcile to spend)
- Manage Salesforce Philanthropy Cloud revenue and license fees
- Fee-for-service accounting (revenue, expense, and reporting)
- Responsible for understanding all aspects of Salesforce CRM and Andar processing system to ensure a complete picture of donors and fundraising efforts
- Prepare month end revenue and accounts receivable reporting, and related journal entries, to be reviewed and posted by the CFO
- Assist Controller with month-end close processes
- Generate annual tax receipts
- Assist with annual audit
- Other duties as assigned
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or 3-5 years’ experience in a comparable role
Skills/Experience:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information and interact effectively with Resource Development, Marketing, and Senior Leadership team
- Very well organized, self-motivated, and detail oriented
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Works well in a team environment with exceptional flexibility, poise, and interpersonal skills
- Highest level of ethical standards, integrity, professionalism, and judgment
- Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to set applicable controls
- Proficient in Microsoft and Google suites
- Experience with Andar, Blackbaud/Financial Edge, and Salesforce are a plus
- Nonprofit experience preferred, but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- The employee is regularly required to communicate clearly, and exchange accurate information interpersonally or through communication devices.
- Must be able to learn new systems and procedures, prepare and analyze data and figures; constantly operate a computer and other standard office machinery.
- The position requires occasional movement throughout the office to access files, papers, or move supplies weighing up to 15lbs.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $41,000 to $50,000 per year
