Summary:

The Accounts Receivable Processor joins the Finance team, comprised of the Accounts Receivable Business Manager, Payroll Specialist, Accounting Associate, Accountant and Chief Financial Officer. 
Mon - Friday 8:30am-5pm; 37.5 hours weekly.

Basic Responsibilities:

Accounts Receivable / Billing:

  • Prepare and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the entry of the charges and billings  for various programs.
  • Prepares and ensure the accuracy of miscellaneous deposits.
  • Assists with the review, accuracy and timeliness of the collection process on all past due accounts for each site monthly. Call, document and draft collection letters for delinquent private accounts. 
  • Deposit client checks for programs and reimburse client petty cash monthly.
  • Balance and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the A/R Aging Report monthly.
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries as needed.
  • Process all adjustments as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation and collection of Insurance and MediCal claims, and private pay billings. 
  • Accept payments for accounts receivable when necessary.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

 Three years full time equivalent in A/R medical or healthcare environment, an AA degree in accounting or business with medical terminology, or a combination of education and experience.

 Working Knowledge of:

  •  Standard accounting procedures and practices.
  • Data entry procedures as they apply to Accounts Receivable.
  • Effective interpersonal communication techniques.
  • Medical terminology
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Effectively be able to answer and respond to questions from staff, clients, volunteers and general public in a friendly and positive manner.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and use available resources & work independently with  minimum supervision.
  • Maintain composure and good judgment under stressful or sensitive related issues.

 Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Position requires a valid California Driver's License, proof of liability insurance coverage and a driving record, which meets the standards of the agency.
  •  Position requires proof of negative TB test within the past twelve (12) months.
  • Proficiently use personal computer and standard business software such as Excel and Word.
  • Perform data entry at a minimum of 8,000 kph and the ability to type 40 words per minute.
  • Use general office equipment including 10-key calculator, copier, phone system and fax machine.
