If so, the American Heart Association opportunity for a FUNDRAISING (SALES) DIRECTOR, YOUTH MARKET CAMPAIGNS may be for you!

THE YOUTH MARKET DIRECTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR WORKING WITH K-12 SCHOOLS IN SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR FUNDRAISING AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS. YOU WILL BE ON THE ROAD (ROAD WARRIOR) ABOUT 75% OF THE TIME SERVICING CURRENT SCHOOL ACCOUNTS, WORKING ON NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND SECURING SPONSORSHIP TO ACHIEVE GOALS IN BOTH REVENUE AND SCHOOL PARTICIPATION.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Achieve a fundraising goal of $218,000 (gross)
  • Manage 140+ school accounts/event to implement major fundraising initiatives (Jump Rope for Heart, Hoops for Heart and Red Out) to benefit the American Heart Association
  • Maintain and cultivate current K-12 schools as well as recruit new schools
  • Identify and secure cash sponsorship
  • Recruit, train, coach and engage volunteers in Youth Market products and services
  • Build strong relationships with volunteers including School Districts, Principals, Teachers and Parent Teacher Associations through outstanding customer service
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and training
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2+ years outside sales or fundraising experience, with proven track record in achieving revenue goals
  • Strong cold-calling, relationship-building and customer service skills
  • Ability to thrive in a results-oriented fundraising/sales environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications and ability to maintain a high volume of account data in a timely and accurate manner
  • Highly effective organizational, multitasking, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter who can work independently as well as in with a team
  • Willing and able to travel extensively within given territory (40 school visits per week). Must have valid driver’s license, auto insurance and personal vehicle or other reasonable form of transportation
  • Able to lift 15-20 pounds to transport supplies and materials

HERE ARE SOME OF THE PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Knowledge of school market
  • Experience in K-12 school sales or fundraising, educational sales
  • Ability to accomplish results through volunteer recruitment and management
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
