Business Development Director, Go Red For Women and Heart Ball

We have an excellent job opportunity for a fundraising or sales professional for a Business Development (Fundraising) Director in our Northern Nevada Division based in Reno. Working as a direct implementor and in collaboration with volunteers and staff, you plan and manage both the Go Red For Women and Heart Ball campaigns with a combined net goal of $520,000 generated through corporate sponsorship, live and silent auction, and individual patron giving.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Secures high level cash sponsorship, including renewals, upgrades and new business to achieve overall revenue goal
  • Manages stewardship, engagement and cultivation of current and prospective individual philanthropic donors
  • Leads in the identification, recruitment and activation of leadership volunteers in the corporate, medical and philanthropic communities to actively serve as event chairmen or members of the Executive Leadership Committee
  • Coordination of event execution including day of event volunteer management
  • Adheres to established best practices, benchmarks and timelines
  • Conducts active community networking and outreach through 10+ face to face meetings on weekly basis with current and prospective donors, volunteers and sponsors
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2+ years successful experience in fundraising, sales or marketing
  • Ability to recruit, train, and manage leadership volunteers to achieve results
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends as needed (10 + face to face meetings per week)

Here are some of the preferred experience/skills we are looking for:

  • Experience with the American Heart Association or similar non-profit experience in a fundraising position
