This position coordinates daily program operations, manages volunteers and provides general support to help facilitate IEUW-managed events and programs. This full-time, non-exempt position reports to the Director of Community Programs and will be stationed in IEUW’s Apple Valley office.
Areas of Responsibility:
Essential Functions – 85%
- Coordinate daily operations of the Kids Pack program, including but not limited to, maintaining student database, school district partner relations, ordering food/supplies, preparation of food bins for delivery
- Coordinate operations of the School Tools program, including but not limited to, school/district relations, and the pick-up, assembly and distribution of supplies
- Coordinate operations of the Launch Point program, including but not limited to, organizing business leader presentations, parent information nights, college tours, or job readiness workshops with local schools
- Coordinate operations of the ieReads program, including but not limited to organizing Read Across America Day activities and story time events.
- Promote and coordinate drives and special campaigns (i.e. Bag Childhood Hunger, School Tools Supply Drives, Book Drives)
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for all program and volunteer events
- Train and manage scheduled volunteers in set-up, check-in, orientation and facilitation of program operations
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with volunteers
- Collect necessary data for program evaluation
- Provide monthly and annual programmatic updates
- General clerical duties may include faxing, copying, message handling, filing, and data input
- Successfully maintain performance parameters and improve skills through various means
- Support the Resource Development Department in building relationships to create new and maintain existing partnerships, including public presentations and tours
Secondary Functions – 20%
- Aid with the development and implementation of IEUW special events and activities
- Serve as support staff for IEUW-managed volunteer projects and take active role for Days of Service events
- Represent IEUW at community meetings, networks and collaborative efforts that impact the areas of education, health and financial stability
- Other duties as assigned
- Complete community-building tasks as approved by supervisor or as necessary to further the mission of the department and the overall organization
Skills/Experience:
- Abilty to multi-task; strong organizational/planning skills and attention to detail are critical
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills; must be comfortable making public presentations
- Ability to work with diverse groups, including staff team, board members, product donors, volunteers and external stakeholders; excellent people skills
- Strong computer skills with expertise in Windows and Microsoft Office
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid California Driver’s License, proof of minimum required California vehicle liability insurance and a good driving record
- Must be available and able to work outside traditional office hours, including some evenings and weekends
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $31,000 to $40,000 per year
