Title: Resource Development Coordinator
Supervisor: Annual Fund Manager
Status: Part Time (25 hours/week) / Non-exempt
Salary: $14.50 to $16.00 per hour

Started in 1981, Habitat for Humanity Portland/Metro East (HFHPME) revitalizes neighborhoods, builds affordable and sustainable homes, and empowers families through successful homeownership. HFHPME is one of the most successful affiliates in the nation and is on the leading edge of program development, innovation and fundraising.

Under the general direction of the Annual Fund Manager, the Resource Development Coordinator is primarily responsible for assisting with the organization’s event planning, as well as assisting with maintaining and increasing the annual fund from individuals and corporations through effective identification, solicitation and cultivation.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning
  • Assist the Annual Fund Manager in coordinating two annual signature events to include the spring breakfast (1,000 attendees raising approx. $350,000), fall auction (400 attendees raising approx. $500,000), and other organization-wide fundraising events.
  • Organize the silent auction for the fall fundraiser including procurement. Recognize in kind donors as appropriate, and maintain ongoing relationships with the Auction Committee and donors.
  • Coordinate aspects of build events for new home development dedications.
  • Serve as the primary contact for third party fundraising events that benefit Habitat.
Annual Fund
  • Develop a Five-Year Employee Giving/Matching Gifts Outreach Plan and manage implementation of the plan.
  • Acquire new employee giving/matching gift donors by working closely with the Corporate Engagement Director, and through outreach to existing and potential partner companies.
  • Assist the Annual Fund Manager in implementing telemarketing initiatives.
  • Assist the Annual Fund Manager to grow annual fund programs through analyzing data and fundraising trends.
Other
  • Provide development support in a team environment for other fundraising and Resource Dept. initiatives and activities.
  • Work with the Board of Directors, volunteers, interns and committees, as needed, to meet annual fund goals.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience fundraising.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience event planning.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented and able to balance priorities.
  • Strong word processing, spreadsheet and database experience.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Proficient in Raiser’s Edge software.
  • Experience in Greater Giving software.
  • Experience in project management.
