The Resource Center is currently seeking a Director to lead this core Preble Street program in its provision of high-quality, low-barrier services to individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty in Portland. As a key member of the Preble Street management team, the Director must be an agile, adaptable, resourceful leader and manager, committed to the agency mission, and will be accountable for all aspects of program management and oversight, including program administration and implementation, quality of care, and staff supervision and support.

Requirements

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate degree in a social service-related field, or Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of relevant experience;
  • Experience with homeless and/or poverty-related service provision;
  • Ability to creatively plan and utilize resources to maximize program quality and capacity;
  • Strong leadership, management and supervision skills within a collaborative environment (non-profit management experience preferred);
  • Understanding of Harm Reduction, Trauma-Informed, and Crisis Intervention theory and practice;
  • Ability to work in, and understanding of challenges specific to, a low-barrier shelter;
  • Knowledge of and experience working in partnership with community resources and service providers.
