The Medical Affairs Coordinator provides support for the Medical Affairs Team at the National Office for Make-A-Wish America, who in turn, supports 60 chapters across the nation. This position does not involve any direct patient care. Performs duties such as scheduling/coordination/taking and distribution of meetings, supporting chapters as needed, and assisting with planning and development of trainings. Answers routine and non-routine correspondence. Supports team’s work on strategic organizational initiatives.
- Acts as primary administrative support for the Medical Affairs Team.
- Provide first-level triage for chapter inquiries related to medical affairs, referring any complex cases to the Manager of Medical Affairs.
- Provides administrative support for medical eligibility program.
- Provides administrative support for national medical advisory council meetings and initiatives.
- Assists with various departmental reports and special projects as needed.
- Prepares and updates medical affairs resource information for chapters including fact sheets and program forms.
- Maintains both paper and electronic files for the department.
- Cross trains in multiple department functions including but not limited to serving as back-up in the response to in-bound calls, emails and questions regarding the medical eligibility process.
- Performs other job duties, as assigned.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pediatric healthcare and healthcare systems.
- Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and follow-through, with a strong ‘can-do’ attitude and customer service focus, demonstrating the ability to work with a variety of internal/external stakeholders in a professional manner.

Qualifications:
- 1 – 2 years Medical Assistant or Patent Care Technician experience in pediatrics required. Consideration may be given to Emergency Medical Technicians or Certified Nursing Assistant with strong pediatric medical knowledge.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required.
- 1 – 2 years of experience working in the customer service field preferred.
- Working knowledge of nonprofit organizations is helpful.
