Develop and implement a comprehensive resource development plan to cultivate and secure the needed monetary (dollars) and non-monetary (advocacy, gifts in kind, and volunteer) resources to support the achievement of The United Way of the Ohio Valley’s strategic goals and business objectives, maintaining the integrity of the United Way brand.
Areas of Responsibility:
Fundraising Operations:
- Maximize individual and corporate giving partnerships from companies and organizations through researching, analyzing, planning, implementing and measuring effective fundraising strategies.
- Direct and oversee fundraising strategies such as planned giving, grant development, and estate planning on behalf of UWOV.
- Provide day-to-day operational leadership for all fundraising campaigns including workplace campaigns, corporate giving, and small business drives.
- Oversee campaign communications materials (presentations, letters, speeches, materials, etc.)
- Plan and implement training for campaign speakers, employee campaign managers and individual company campaign committees.
Investor/Donor Relations and Analytics:
- Develop effective donor management/recognition programs to increase the share of dollars directed to the United Way impact areas from current and new donors.
- Cultivate campaign donations and connect contributor interest to opportunities to give, advocate, and /or volunteer in Education, Financial Stability, and Health.
- Utilize technology to further UWOV’s operational ability to raise needed resources in support of United Way’s vision, mission, and strategic plan to fulfill United Way’s goals of cost-effective fundraising and community building.
- Ensure donor and prospect records and current files are up to date and viable.
- Develop and provide key donor analytics to maximize donor retention and contributions and better frame impact strategies as potential investment products.
- Nurture donor relationships through consistent, year-round contact and communication.
Leadership Giving:
- Provide day-to-day operational leadership for Leadership Circle Giving.
- Direct annual celebration of Leadership Circle givers and all other donor recognition.
- Collaborate on developing materials related to the Leadership Circle.
Other Responsibilities:
- Organize and conduct Campaign meetings to assess progress.
- Provide excellent customer service as a component of all job duties.
- Assist with daily operations and other duties as assigned.
- Grant applications.
Educational Background:
A bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of 2-3 years of related experience.
Skills/Experience:
- Demonstrate excellent oral, written and technical communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
- Familiar with database software or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrate proficiency in social media skills.
- Must have a valid KY driver’s license with access to a motor vehicle during working hours.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to communities in which UWOV serves.
