What we're looking for:
We are seeking a dynamic, resourceful and creative Director of People & Culture to provide leadership in developing and executing Easterseals Florida initiatives in support of the strategic direction of the organization - "To create an environment where all team members feel included, valued, celebrated and respected." The Director of People & Culture will also manage, develop, and motivate a proactive and professional HR team, guiding the team on emerging best practices in recruitment, onboarding, staff development, retention, evaluations and accountability, as well as all regulatory and legal requirements. Basic Responsibilities:
What you'll be doing:
- Identify and evaluate new HR-related opportunities that best serve the agency's purpose, vision, goals/objectives, and strategy
- Develop credibility with all employees as a resource, partner, service provider and problem-solver
- As an agent of cultural transformation, facilitate a creative, collaborative and welcoming work culture that is innovative and communicates expected norms and behaviors
- Enable enhanced agency-wide communications and dialogue
- Support diversity and inclusion efforts through development of programs that allow all parts of Easterseals Florida to embrace applicants and employees of all backgrounds and to permit the full development and performance of all employees
- Provide department oversight and leadership for all the operational HR functions (compensation, benefits, employee relations, recruiting and talent management, compliance, etc.)
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree with a major in human resources or business-related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a human resources professional in a nonprofit organization
- Minimum 2 years of experience strategically leading a Human Resources department
- PHR or SPHR Certification
- A charismatic leader with superior interpersonal communication and executive presence
- In-depth knowledge of Human Resources-related laws, regulations and policy as well as experience with cutting-edge and other advanced human resources-related programs and initiatives; a successful track record resolving complex HR-related issues
- An energetic, forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards, an appropriate professional image and a lead-by-example style that promotes a positive, team-based environment
- A leader who values a collaborative approach to working within the organization
