The Manager of Finance reports to the Executive Director to provide excellent stewardship of donor dollars, with ultimate accountability and transparency in financial decision making involving the UWHC and protection of the assets. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Primary responsibilities include overseeing, managing, and administering all financial planning analyses, including financial statements, budgets, long-range forecasts and trends, financial models, and key performance measures.
  • Must prepare and interpret management reports for investments, program grants, and other fiscal matters.
  • Tasked with reviewing and approving recommendations for financial planning and controls, as well as accounting policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for A/P, A/R, general ledger accounting, pledge processing, internal operations and data roles.
  • Works closely with the board of directors, organizational leadership team and is staff lead of our volunteer driven audit & finance committees.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree from accredited four-year college or university required;
Skills/Experience: 
  • We are looking for a team member possessing core finance, accounting, and leadership competencies. The candidate must possess business acumen, financial aptitude, operational planning and execution, and leadership. Expected to maintain a positive work atmosphere through active communications in a manner that aligns with clients, donors, co-workers, and board of directors and will contribute to the organization and our partner agencies by working effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Five to ten years of professional finance and accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA preferable. Excellent communication skills are essential, particularly in regard to presenting the results of analyses to management. Should have an outstanding knowledge of electronic spreadsheets.
  • Experience working in nonprofit accounting and two years in a supervisory/leadership capacity required.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hiring salary range $25-$30/hour (special consideration based on qualifications presented) plus 30-hour reduced workweek, pro-rated health, 403(b), paid leave, and flexible schedule.
