Events Coordinator

The Events Coordinator is responsible for all the planning, development and administration of all Trident United Way donor events including the Annual Celebration, and any engagements spearheaded by the Tocqueville and Palmetto societies, among others.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Under direction of Resource Development leaders, plan and implement mission-focused events that recognize, steward and cultivate current donors, volunteers and prospects while also increasing their engagement and affinity with the organization.
  • Coordinate all event details from planning, to executing and event close-out.
  • Work with the Communications team to create accurate and branded event collateral.
  • Work collaboratively with Resource Development staff to ensure target event attendance and manage registration process.
  • Work collaboratively with Communications and Resource Development staff to ensure compelling event programming.
  • Assist with internal and external communications tasks related to events as assigned.
  • Manage event budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, safety and health obligations.
  • Conduct pre and post-event evaluations and outcome reports.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Answer general inquiries and obtain information requested by general public or refer to appropriate staff member.
  • Work with the administrative staff on data base, thank you notices, and registration issues.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Skills/Experience: 

Experience

  • Three years’ experience planning and implementing events
  • Nonprofit experience preferred
  • Project management experience preferred

  • Superior  written and oral skills
  • Superior editing skills
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to track multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure, adapt to change and solve problems
  • Ability to manage budgets and negotiate with vendors
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF JOB

  • Must frequently talk, hear and use typical office equipment
  • Worker sits some of the time, otherwise routinely required to walk and travel by car
  • Position will require worker to commute to offsite locations to complete business
  • Worker must frequently communicate in writing or verbally with staff, volunteer leadership and the public and exchange accurate information
  • Weights of up to 20 pounds occasionally lifted

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Primarily works in a climate controlled office-based setting
