The successful candidate is someone interested in operations, finance, and learning about the back-end infrastructure of a nonprofit organization from the ground up. This position will play an important role in managing various revenue streams – workplace campaigns, events, and individual giving.  The outputs of this position directly support UWNYC’s strategic imperative to “know our donors” by playing a key role in the setup and maintenance of platforms, events, and donor communication.  He or she must be comfortable and confident working with corporate partners and donors.  This position works closely cross-functionally with various departments throughout organization.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Learns all that is required to work closely with the Business Operations team in the areas of gift processing, develop an in-depth understanding of our donor information system (Andar) and 3rd party gift processor platforms
  • Work with UWNYC’s Resource Development (fundraising) team to establish and maintain relationships with our corporate partners in the technical setup of UWNYC’s workplace campaign giving platforms
  • Work closely with our pledge capture and payment processing vendor, ‘FrontStream’ in preparing campaign materials for our workplace giving campaigns (i.e., demo site functionality, site content changes, payment options, preparing donor data files, user acceptance testing, report setup, etc.)  
  • Manage development and creation of digital donation pages on 3rd party gift processing platforms (Blue State Digital and Formstack)
  • Work with Special Events & Sponsorships in processing, reporting, and reconciling financial results for organizations events (i.e., Women’s United Luncheon, Gridiron Gala, & Young Leaders Council, etc.)
  • Supports the Business Operations team in quarterly distribution reconciliation with processing vendor; and communicate with corporate partners on payment submissions
  • Supports Senior Associate, Accounts Receivable in check and ACH processing (i.e., chain of custody, deposits, etc.) as well as monthly reconciliations, collections and processing
  • Establish and maintain relationships with staff across Resource Development, Marketing, Finance, and other parties to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Supports Senior Director in various system administration of electronic platforms and organizations donor database
  • Active participant in the Business Operations Team Organization Goals & Special Projects
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree, with an interest in operations and finance
Skills/Experience: 
  • Effective listener able to understand and incorporate needs of clients’ and peers’
  • Strong computer aptitude skills utilizing Microsoft Office and Excel with an ability to easily learn new programs and procedures
  • Strong database understanding
  • Must be highly organized, professional, and possess a donor-centric mentality with a high attention to detail
  • Self –motivated to take on challenges and provide thoughtful solutions with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple demands; results-oriented and ability to work quickly and accurately
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Must maintain a high degree of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A team player who works well under pressure, initiative, and has excellent investigative and follow-through skills
  • In addition to the above, the ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic learner, someone who can adapt to quickly changing circumstances, and have a sense of humor
