The Manager’s primary responsibility is to manage the programmatic activities of the Food Support Connections (FSC) program and Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP). FSC’s food and benefits access strategy is focused on connecting eligible households to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and other available public resources. For FSC, the Manager is responsible for working directly with community-based partners on meeting grant deliverables, including timely submissions of quarterly progress reports, budgets and expense reports through our internal fiscal management system, and tracking program outputs in our data management system. EFSP’s food and benefits access strategy is focused on supporting NYC’s emergency food and shelter programs and households in crisis with funds to cover rent, mortgage and utility costs. For EFSP, the Manager is responsible for working directly with community-based partners on meeting grant deliverables, including timely submissions of interim and final reports and providing technical assistance to partners on grant requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for FSC and EFSP partners to provide technical assistance and guidance to ensure partners can meet deliverables and remain in compliance.
- Oversee the Trax 8 data management system and internal fiscal management system (FMS) in collaboration with IT and Finance departments for FSC partners.
- Develop Trax 8 and FMS training materials and use materials to conduct trainings for FSC partners.
- Develop outreach materials for FSC partners.
- Prepare quarterly and yearly grant, budget and expense progress report documents for FSC partners.
- Develop and distribute program reports for FSC partner organizations in order to share performance outcomes, best practices and project relevant information across the SNAP outreach network.
- Stay informed of SNAP policies on the local and national level.
- Participate in SNAP Taskforce meetings with external partners.
- Assist in the development of funding allocation guidelines as well as with creating scoring and tracking tools for EFSP partners.
- Review interim and final grant reports for EFSP partners.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- A minimum of 2 years work experience or a bachelor’s degree in sociology, politics, public administration or related social sciences, with a minimum 4 years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of, and experience with, nonprofit grant management and program administration, and/or demonstrated knowledge of SNAP and other public benefits.
