The 5-year USAID funded Mhuri / Imuli program’s goal in Zimbabwe is to improve maternal, youth and child health and survival in beneficiary communities and populations. The geographic focus is the seven districts of Manicaland Province, focusing on activities to increase the demand and supply of integrated, quality MNCH-FP services as well delivery of family planning services through outreach in all 10 provinces of Zimbabwe. This project will provide Technical Assistance (TA) to the MOHCC in Manicaland for MNCH and direct service delivery for Family Planning through outreach services.
The incumbent will be responsible for providing a wide range of quality Family planning services with the appropriate method –mix across all sectors including the hard to reach populations and groups.
- Provides consultation, counseling of clients and advice on various methods of Family Planning to enable the client to make informed decisions.
- Assess the client’s family planning needs by obtaining and/or evaluating a medical social history.
- Perform appropriate health assessment including the relevant screenings and examination of the client
- Provide instructions to clients in the use of all contraceptive methods including safety, effectiveness, possible side effects, complications, danger signs, etc.
- Utilize written recommended protocols, SOPs for the performance of activities related to initiation or modification of contraceptive regime selected.
- Provide counseling and instruction about health-related needs to include such but not limited to Infertility and Human Sexuality.
- Refer and follow -up clients with suspected abnormal conditions for further medical health care and community assistance as indicated.
- Provide quality improvement and risk management activities as needed to improve the quality of patient care;
- Provides information for periodic reporting or monitoring requirements;
- Maintains clients records including the FP registers client assessments records and management plans, referral and follow up letters;
- Participate in the quality assurance component of family planning, e.g. audit of family planning services standards.
- Participate in in -service education for staff.
- Assist the clinic coordinator with the general function of the family planning outreach program as assigned.

- Certificate in Family Planning Training ( Basic and LARC)
- Diploma in community nursing
- At least 3 years post qualification experience,
