United Way of Northern New Jersey is seeking a Graphic Designer/Production Artist to serve as an on site contractor through December 2018, with the possibility of an extension. This position is responsible for the design, layout and production needs for ALICE Reports and Updates. Job entails peforming a variety of tasks to ensure all elements produced are professionally organized and executed, thereby properly showcasing our brand and promoting our work to the public. This position is also responsible for ensuring strict adherence to United Way Worldwide standards and guidelines. Ability to manage and build out new sections on UnitedWayALICE.org website is a plus but not required.
Skills/Experience:
- Layout, production, and updates to all United Way ALICE Reports (including general text, data tables, graphs, edits to layout, and general presentation)
- Designing supporting marketing materials and templates needed for the United Way ALICE Project
- Protecting and promoting the United Way brand
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail a must
- Strong technical knowledge of Adobe InDesign is a must (report layout; data merges; applying styles, text flow; building tables, charts and graphs)
- Strong technical knowledge of Adobe Illustrator (creating pie charts, editing graphs and charts), Adobe Acrobat, Word, EXcel and PowerPoint
- Exceptional (and documented) technical layout and design skills
- Understanding of color and esign theory and typography
- Experience and/or knowledge in marketing and branding
- Experience in web design and development a plus
- Comfort working in a deadline driven work environment
- Comfortable asking for help when necessary
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to be flexible with shifting deadlines within reason
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of classified information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and timely follow up
- Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people and accept feedback
