The RQI program (Resuscitation Quality Improvement) is a self-directed, simulation-based performance and quality improvement program for healthcare organizations and professionals that offers “low-dose, high-frequency” knowledge and hands-on learning sessions that provide vital CPR quality practice in @ 20 minutes every 90 days. RQI offers a comprehensive, end-to-end quality improvement program at a lower cost.

We have an excellent opportunity for aRQI Development Manager in the Amerian Heart Association - Midwest. The location is flexible within the Midwest region, but the person must be located near a major airport. States in the Midwest region include: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The main accountability of the RQI Development Manager is to drive revenue for the RQI program within the Midwest region.

  • Work closely with Midwest development, Quality & Systems Improvement (QSI) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) staff to coordinate approach in establishing and growing the RQI program in hospitals.
  • Operates as the key point of contact for reporting and communication within the Midwest region for RQI activities.
  • Facilitates and provides training and education to Midwest region staff in RQI sales and competencies.
  • Communicates and provides information for RQI leads to dedicated RQI sales team.
  • Prepares and provides updates and reports to ECC RQI Leadership and facilitates communication between ECC and Affiliate Leadership.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s or some college plus experience. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred. College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 5+ years of experience in fundraising or outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity. This experience may also count towards satisfying this position’s educational requirement.
  • Related experience may be substituted as follows: 1 ½ years experience equates to 1 full-time year of higher education.
  • Experience identifying and building relationships with key volunteers in hospital or clinical settings.
  • Experience in building and managing relationships with external alliances or partners.
  • Knowledge/experience with selling to C-Suite, ideally in hospital setting.
  • Ability to do daily travel up to 25% and overnight travel up to 50%.
  • Must have at least basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office 2010 or higher used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets. Advanced knowledge and skill with these programs is preferred. These skills are subject to testing.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
