The Site Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating and controlling center services and operations, ensuring a high quality of education and care for all children in the program. The Manager operates the program and manages the staff, ensuring conformance with regulatory agency and governmental requirements.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manage staff including recruitment, hiring, development/training, scheduling and evaluation.
- Supervise and monitor daily program activities, including encouraging and coaching staff to resolve and programmatic problems and using positive discipline techniques to ensure a safe, healthy, and happy environment.
- Ensure the program is creating and utilizing developmentally appropriate curriculums and submit timely, accurate and complete forms and reports.
- Review and evaluate new and current programs to determine their efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with state, federal and credentialing agencies and recommend any necessary modifications.
- Ensure the site is compliant with the Office of Early Childhood (OEC) and NAEYC standards and regulations.
- Partner with families and staff members to ensure that the needs of individual children are met.
- Complete and maintain site reports/records according to OEC, School Readiness, Care4Kids, CACFP, and NAEYC guidelines.
- Attend and actively facilitate supervision and multi-component staff meetings.
- Collaborate with other providers to assist in high quality early care systems throughout the community.
- Recruit and enroll eligible families, conduct family engagement activities.

Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of infant and toddler development. Knowledge of Early Childhood Education, School Readiness and Connecticut Early Learning and Development standards.
- Warm and nurturing personality. Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
- This position may be authorized to have access to protected Health Information (PHI) to perform specific job duties. Must be able to work in Pre-school classroom, possibly work with children with communicable diseases and disabilities.
- Outdoor playground (possibly without handicapped access).
- Personal qualifications as required in Part 407: Licensing Standards for Child Care Centers, emotional maturity, willingness to cooperate with the aims of the program, respect for children and adults, flexibility, patience, good personal hygiene, and physical and mental health which does not interfere with responsibilities.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field such as Elementary Education, Health Education, Human Services, Child Development.
- Willingness to participate in Leadership/Supervisory Courses.
EXPERIENCE
- 2+ years supervisory experience in child care centers.
