United Way of the Mid-South (Memphis, TN) is seeking a Resource Development Manager (RDM) capable of meeting and achieving our mission and strategic focus. This RDM should be an energetic team player, able to coordinate and implement comprehensive relationship management and fundraising strategies with individuals and priority companies. This position will tailor and execute initiatives and activities to achieve growth, retention, participation, and revenue goals. The RDM will work to position United Way as the primary philanthropic conduit between companies, their employees, and the communities in which they operate, through the development of a year-round engagement experience for donors and volunteers. The RDM is also charged with credibly representing UWMS and its strategic direction to community and corporate leaders and to work closely with the Director of Resource Development to cultivate the relationships and contributions needed to succeed. The RDM will have financial targets centered around the annual campaign, special initiative fundraising, Campaign Representative recruitment, sponsorship fundraising, and response to custom giving interests that align with UWMS’ mission.
- Minimum five (5) years of successful and credible experience in a fundraising, resource development, and/or sales.
- Has a shared commitment to the mission of the organization and the community at large.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to create, grow and retain strong customer relationships.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills.
- A reputation for team work and a can-do, solutions-oriented attitude.
- Advanced computer skills including Google office tools, specifically email, Google docs and calendar, as well as Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Because the RDM will spend over 65% of a week out of the office, reliable personal transportation is required and essential.
- Candidate must have the ability to network in a professional environment and develop and cultivate new business accounts/opportunities on a weekly basis.
- Candidate will need knowledge and experience using Saleforce and Enterprise Data Collection Systems.
