The Hospital Engagement Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be based in the TB Innovations Office and will oversee the M&E activities related to the hospital engagement in the following regions: NCR, Region 3 and Region 4A in coordination with the Hospital Engagement Team Leader. S/he will also work closely with the M&E Specialist of the TB Innovations and Health Systems Strengthening Project to ensure that the developed Hospital Engagement M&E plan is consistent with the overall project’s M&E plan and framework and that submission of required data is timely, complete and accurate.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Conduct data collection, validation and analysis generated by Hospital Engagement Officers based on developed M&E plan and framework, reporting requirements, templates and tools specific for hospital engagement
- Ensure accuracy, consistency and alignment with existing data.
- Work closely with the M&E Specialist in project monitoring and reporting and to provide guidance and support to partners as needed.
- Provide training to relevant partners and hospital personnel as needed in the use of developed tools
- Participate in quality improvement plans which focus on M&E.
- Provide support to the TB Innovations M&E Specialist in the development and implementation of monitoring tools, which will include, but not be limited to, data collection, analysis and reporting on program indicators.
- Support the coordination and execution of activities such as organizing capacity building workshops for staff and partners, collecting and disseminating relevant information on monitoring, evaluation, and research.
- Assist in the preparation of progress quarterly M&E reports and upload all approved M&E relevant reports into the online systems as required.
- Travel when needed to coordinate, monitor, and/or participate in related activities.
- Assist with project research activities, such as translation and transcription, as needed.
- Contribute to presentations in MS Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint formats.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and agreed upon.
- Assist with implementing M&E systems and procedures as per the USAID guidelines which include data collection, analysis, and reporting on key output, outcome, and impact indicators for the program.
- Undertake activities to support reviews of program and/or regional or local M&E systems and M&E system strengthening actions.
Educational Background:
BA/BS in public health, management, social sciences, statistics or equivalent work experiences.
Skills/Experience:
- Working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures with providing program support for TB and DR-TB activities/projects is desired.
- Experience in program monitoring and evaluation, data collection, and data management.
- Knowledge and experience in M&E and USAID reporting requirements is desired.
- Excellent interpersonal and team work skills.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office package, particularly, Word, Excel, and Power Point and with experience using database and data analysis software.
- Ability to analyze data for and correct data errors and prepare reports.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and work with others effectively.
- Prior experience in a non- governmental organization (NGO) preferred.
- Fluency in English and local language.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Usual office working conditions.
- Ability to travel domestically at least 25%.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years of program monitoring experience, preferably in tuberculosis.
