The Hospital ACF Officer will be based in Level 3 high-volume public TB DOTS Providing Hospitals in the National Capital Region mainly to provide technical support in streamlining hospital-wide active case finding through systematic screening of all clients for TB in all service areas of the hospital. The ACF Officer will ensure that all presumptive and confirmed TB cases are properly recorded by the hospital TB DOTS clinic.
- Assists in triage and active case finding activities in assigned hospital identified as either advance implementation site for innovative interventions or high-volume public hospital
- Maintains an updated master list of physicians in assigned hospital(s) in NCR and assists in the registration and notification activities of identified physicians
- Ensures that all clients of the hospital undergo systematic screening in both inpatient and outpatient departments, including special services involving high clinical risk groups
- Reviews hospital referral logbook and TB register to ensure that all TB cases diagnosed in the facility are accurately registered and reported in the Integrated TB Information System (ITIS)
- Assists the hospital TB team in orientation and advocacy meetings with hospital staff on notification, systematic screening, referral to hospital DOTS Clinic, and other TB-related activities
- Assists the hospital TB team in formulation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of hospital TB referral mechanisms (internal and external)
- Assists in the planning, coordinating, organizing, and facilitating, and attends all meetings and events related to hospital TB notification and case finding, and dissemination of related guidelines on diagnosis, treatment, and prevention
- Reviews existing feedbacking mechanism and enhances accordingly to ensure all referred clients are successfully accepted
- Conducts regular visits to all wards and hospital units such as the Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, etc, to ensure all presumptive and confirmed TB cases are referred and recorded (hospital referral logbook or TB register)
- Assists in early identification of problems or concerns relevant to hospital notification and case finding activities, and support effective discussion or action to resolve issues raised
- Assists in ensuring continuous availability of logistics (ie, drugs, forms, etc) and addresses administrative needs related to ENHANCE implementation, such as notification and case finding activities
- Provides technical assistance and operational inputs based on monitoring findings
- Prepares and submits timely hospital progress reports on the implementation of ENHANCE, such as notification and case finding activities to the hospital management, city health offices, and to the project
- Assists in other TB-related activities in the assigned hospital(s)
- At least 1-2 years working in hospital or clinic setting
- Previous work related to TB control especially in the hospital setting is an advantage.
- Articulate, professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with stakeholders and colleagues.
- Demonstrated basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis.
- Prior experience in a NGO preferred.
- Ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team unit.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of TB/DR-TB situation in the Philippines.
- Experience in TB/DR-TB programming is strongly desired.

- Willing to do field work activities
- Usual hospital/clinic working conditions.
- Full-time 12 months grant funded position
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- At least 1-2 years working in health development sector assisting non-government organization (NGO) or public-sector programs.
- Experience in working with key stakeholders in Philippines strongly desired.
- Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations is an advantage.
