United Way of Wisconsin manages several statewide initiatives including 2-1-1 Wisconsin. This position will work closely with the Executive Director and project leadership groups to implement efficient and effective initiatives that benefit Wisconsin residents.
Areas of Responsibility:
Statewide Leadership
- Supports Business Plan implementation that will result in: efficient operations and support to local implementing organizations, increased awareness, financial stability and quality service.
- Leadership statewide, to internal and external stakeholder groups. Help find solutions when barriers and challenges are presented. Keep Executive Director aware of issues.
- Oversee and take a lead role to assure that work plans are developed and implemented in a timely and efficient manner.
- Develop statewide marketing collateral, issue papers and other written communication to promote our initiatives.
Coordination and Support
- Develop strong partner relationships that are designed to reach common goals, build on individual strengths, and keep an eye to greater collective impact.
- Oversee and ensure coordination of statewide activities including effective data collection; appropriate technology infrastructure, reporting and quality assurance.
- Manage service agreements/contracts ensuring that economies are maximized and proper technical assistance is provided.
- Responsible for administering and ensuring compliance with grants and contracts.
Staff Development/Training/Community Outreach
- Develop training materials for internal and external program partners.
- Assist centers in AIRS certification as appropriate and be current with AIRS Standards and Best Practices.
- Represent the organization at local, state and national conferences and meetings.
- Manage and coordinate continuous improvement processes.
- Create tools and processes that will enhance workflows, operations, and give visibility across partners.
- Develop and implement print and digital marketing strategies.
Fund Development
- Prepare funding proposals and develop work plans that strategically align with United Ways goals and priorities.
- Assist local implementing partners with identifying local sources of financial support.
Other duties as required
- Attends board of directors meetings, statewide meetings, and regional conference as appropriate.
- Is required to preserve the confidentiality of discussions and/or privileged information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nonprofit or Business, Project or Program Management, or Communications
Skills/Experience:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education and Experience:
- 3-5 years’ experience in project management with internal and external stakeholder teams.
- Experience working in complex project environments
- Experience working in community and social sector settings
Specific Skills Needed:
- Ability to prioritize strategy over a task-list, but with the ability to operationalize long-term ideas, detailed projects and meet deadlines.
- Proven project management skills.
- Proven track-record of providing customer centered service and ability to develop effective relationships.
- Ability to analyze data across multiple platforms.
- Must exhibit high degree of initiative, be self-directed, and deadline driven.
- Excellent interpersonal and project management skills with the ability to work in direct relationship with a diverse group of individuals or organizations in an effective manner.
- Demonstrate ability to proactively solve problems, analyze data, and suggest appropriate solutions
- Able to work under stress to meet project deadlines; can be flexible, and adapt quickly when a plan needs to change.
- Effective presentation skills along with the ability to clearly communicate ideas
- A clear interest in and/or knowledge of modern database, content-management and communication tools.
- Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $41,000 to $50,000 per year
