United Way of Dane County (UWDC) is one of the largest nonprofits in Dane County, responsible for private investment in fundamental health and human services that focus on moving families from poverty to financial stability in order to achieve the vision of a Dane County where everyone can succeed in school, work and live. An enormous aspect of this work is educating and engaging the community to provide the resources to fund this fundamental work each year. The Executive Vice President, Resource Development, sets the strategy and leads the execution of raising these resources.
The individual in this role will build a top performing Resource Development Department to strengthen business (accounts) and individual donor partnerships, build community will for change, and grow financial support to advance our mission.
Overarching Responsibilities: Lead, plan, develop, manage and implement multi-year strategies to achieve results in the Resource Development work of United Way through the leadership and management of the Resource Development department.
The individual in this role will need to provide professional leadership to Staff, Executive Team, Board and Resource Development volunteers including Cabinet and Cabinet committees, Leadership Giving/Affinity Group committees, and the United Way Foundation Board of Trustees, as well as leaders across the Dane County business community with an overall goal to drive partnerships and deepen relationships.
- A minimum of ten years of United Way campaign or other related fund raising, marketing, communications and public relations experience.
- Specific knowledge of supervisory and management techniques.
- Specific knowledge of fund development and marketing fundamentals. Demonstrated leadership ability.
- Special knowledge of principle and practices of marketing, communications, public relations and media relations.
- General knowledge of budgeting, planning, and computer technologies including CRM, analytics and reporting.
