United Way of Dane County is seeking a full-time Community Impact Director – Agenda for Change to achieve identified United Way Agenda for Change community goals and outcomes through work with community volunteers and partners. Provides direction and leadership for:

  • Strategic housing and homelessness investments and programs as part of the work of the Income Community Solutions Team (CST)
  • Born Learning (early childhood home visiting) investments as part of the Education CST

Leads and promotes the development of United Way Community Impact work by revising and reinforcing strategies for reaching and impacting communities by connecting and aligning available programs, assets, people and resources with an emphasis on housing and homelessness related programs and relationships (Income CST) and early childhood home visiting programs and relationships (Education CST). Creates results through community engagement, resource development and utilization, volunteer engagement, agency relations, donor relations and public relations that make United Way accountable to the community as stewards of community resources.

Provides leadership, in conjunction with city and county government, local nonprofits, towards a more comprehensive system for ensuring stable housing and access to quality early learning programs for all. Build and maintain relationships with partner agencies, collaborating on best practices, monitoring and evaluating performance and troubleshooting concerns. Manage grant-funded signature initiatives to maintain affordable housing, including, grant writing, budgeting, program implementation, data analysis and reporting. Knowledge of social service systems, program and grants management, project management, facilitation, volunteer management and stakeholder engagement. Experienced with Microsoft Office computer and ability to learn new technology. Strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail. Highly effective written and oral communication skills. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with escalating responsibilities. At least three years’ experience in human services, social work, non-profit service delivery or management, public speaking and/or fundraising, is helpful. Experience building partnerships with diverse stakeholders connecting and aligning strategies and resources, fostering innovation using shared data, measurement and accountability.
