To provide direct technical support and mentorship of community volunteers to ensure improved health status among maternal and lactating mothers, newborns and children under 5 years old to ensure child wellbeing aspirations.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide technical support to community health-based volunteers to increase their knowledge and skills related to Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition.
  • Collaborate with local health facility teams to build local capacity ensuring improved overall health outcomes through integrated health care delivery systems.
  • Support the Development Facilitator in Preparing/Adapting and disseminating relevant health educational material, teaching aids and clinic reference materials for the delivery of high impact interventions in S2T through CBVs
  • Regularly visit respective zones to ensure CBVs understand ST2 and MNCH standards
  • Mobilise community members and ensure that they participate in project activities
  • Work with the Neighborhood health community groups in strengthening the health systems
  • Implement locally-specific strategies to increase demand and utilization of MNCH services.
  • Capture accurate and consistent data from the field.
  • Work with DF to prepare and submit the monthly program implementation report related to MNCH&N indicators and quarterly performance review reports for respective zones timely
  • Assist in initiating and implementing project models (ICCM, PD Hearth, ttC) to improve health outcomes among mothers and children under five years old.
  • Represent the project in various local health community forums as may become necessary
  • Any other technical duties as may be assigned.
Educational Background: 
Diploma in any Health-related field, Social work or Developmental Studies, Degree in any social science is added advantage.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2-3 work experience in similar environment/role
  • Grade 12 with credit in English and any five subjects
  • Experience in community mobilization and engagement
  • Good Facilitation skills
  • Basic Computer skills in Ms Office applications
  • Adaptive and willing to work in a rural set up.
  • Must have good interpersonal relations.
  • Must have a good understanding of the Health System
  • Must have an understanding of World Vision mission, vision and core values.
  • Experience with operations of the health system particularly Maternal Newborn and Child Health programmes is added advantage
  • Must be a licensed Motor bike rider

  • Work environment: 20%Office/ 80% field -based
