Senior Corporate Initiatives Director

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Corporate Initiatives Director to join our dynamic Los Angeles Division team.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the Senior Corporate Initiatives Director is responsible for the overall management, execution and growth of an assigned portfolio, inclusive of AHA’s leading corporate sponsorships. This will be done in collaboration with Los Angeles Division, Western States Region and National teams, as well as internal and external partners across functional areas to achieve regional and association-wide goals.

In this role, you will implement enhancements and solidify donor or corporate sponsor experiences at AHA fundraising events such as Heart Walk, Go Red for Women, Target: Blood Pressure, Kids Heart Challenge, etc.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Oversees corporate account functions to generate a positive ROI and increased fundraising revenue with the goal to renew and/or grow accounts through balanced revenue streams
  • Builds and expands strategic $500k+ relationships that result in new and renewable accounts.
  • Effectively integrates strategic plan priorities and existing initiatives/activities. Recommends and manages innovative approaches to drive total revenue and health impact
  • Researches, analyzes and captures key donor groups, sponsorship and business trends to identify fundraising experiences that will engage and excite new and returning sponsors and corporate participants.
  • Internal and external management and tracking of sponsor activation timelines, corporate brand visibility deliverables, community impact investments, executive leadership engagement, and ROI reporting
  • Analyzes specialty events to provide donors the opportunity to express their desired giving method and personalized reward for involvement.
  • Provides timeline direction, framework and resources to volunteers within companies while at the same time relying on their expertise, abilities and willingness to leverage their networks to drive the goals of the organizations
  • Holds volunteers and staff accountable while being accessible and building collaborative partnerships that are based on a foundation of mutual trust
  • Manages and facilitates assigned account team meetings to ensure effective execution of contract deliverables.
  • Demonstrates the AHA leadership competencies and employs effective management techniques in the sourcing, recruitment, selection, supervision, management and leadership of staff to appropriately develop and engage staff to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Regularly evaluates and reports on campaign progress utilizing the campaign management tools and reporting systems available.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related area, preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a comparable non-profit or sales organization
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in corporate account management, sales and/or marketing
  • Demonstrated track record in building effective teams of staff and volunteers
  • Demonstrated track record in setting and achieving aggressive goals on a sustained basis independently as well as through and with volunteers.
  • Ability to influence others to action through creating a shared vision and sense of ownership and personal accountability.
  • Ability to credibly establish and execute a strategic plan across functional areas and disciplines in a complex and highly dynamic environment, effectively translating strategies to measurable goals and plans.
  • Proven ability to think strategically, analyze market data, identify key trends and have participated in the strategy development and execution of initiatives to achieve fundraising and operational goals.
