Basic Responsibilities:
The Curriculum Coordinator assures quality in the development, assessment, and improvement of the Easterseals Arkansas classrooms by defining and implementing selected curricula and best practices in order to achieve the highest standards and outcomes in education.
The Coordinator at The Academy provides instructional leadership including managing and evaluating effective and clear procedures for the day-to-day operation and functioning of The Academy consistent with the philosophy and mission of Easterseals Arkansas.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum qualifications include Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field and five years of experience teaching children with disabilities, curriculum development and implementation, and supervisory experience.
- Prefer Master’s degree in Special Education.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to calculate and analyze figures.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Arkansas Teaching Certificate in Special Education
- Valid Arkansas Driver's License
