The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a high achieving fundraising/sales professional to fill a Development Director, Heart Walk position in Las Vegas. As the Director you collaborate with staff and volunteers in the overall planning, management and implementation of the Heart Walk campaign with a net revenue goal of $300,000 .
Areas of Responsibility:
- With a focus on business to business (B2B) relationships, manages current accounts, and new business development, to secure corporate sponsorship and employee engagement
- Develops strategic plans with each company including year-round cultivation
- Manages assigned community teams, establishing goals and developing action plans
- Adheres to established Best Practices, benchmarks and timelines and conducts active community networking and outreach through 10+ face to face meetings on weekly basis with donors, volunteers and sponsors
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Skills/Experience:
- 2-3 years successful experience in fundraising, outside sales or marketing
- Ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment, training, and management
- Highly effective organizational, communication, negotiations and interpersonal skills. Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
- Self-starter able to work well in a team driven environment
- Knowledge of AHA’s mission and programs
- Ability to delegate and accomplish goals through volunteers.
- Ability and willingness to travel and to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Experience with the American Heart Association or similar nonprofit organization
- Experience in securing high level corporate cash sponsorship
- Comfortable with business to business sales, including cold calling
