The Special Projects Manager provides volunteer engagement opportunities for UW’s corporate partners and affinity groups. This manager also raises funds through the workplace campaign and serves as a “Relationship Champion” for United Way of Acadiana. This position fosters relationships with current and prospective donors, with special emphasis on supporters within the workforce.
The Special Projects Manager serves on a team that is focused on the Annual Workforce Campaign, volunteer engagement, special fundraising events management and cultivation of year-round relationships in order to meet annual fundraising goals. Must meet financial targets within assigned accounts.
Coordination of Short-Term and Long-Term Projects
- Serve as “project management” lead for UWA donor engagement projects or special events like Stuff the Bus, United Way Readers or Career Connections; lead volunteer recruitment/placement for disaster response; and develop a menu of volunteer opportunities to satisfy corporate requests for year-round engagement of their workforce.
Building Relationships and Resources
- Serve as a “Relationship Champion” by fostering an environment in which volunteers and staff become stewards of the relationship between United Way of Acadiana and its investors.
Staffing Successful Campaign Operations:
- Provide staff management of campaign activities for assigned accounts in order to meet and exceed campaign fund-raising goals as established by the UWA Board of Directors. Within assigned accounts, lead efforts to secure donations from those in the workplace and to further engage workplace supporters as volunteers with United Way of Acadiana.
- At least two years’ experience in volunteer management, fundraising, fund development or sales; experience with coordinating programs and special events; experience with office management to include work with personal computers, databases and word processing is required.
