The Data Specialist provides data entry to support operations.  This staff member will provide efficient and confidential capture of pledge and gift information for all donations provided to United Way of Acadiana.  The Data Specialist will collaborate with the VP of Fin and VP of Admin to ensure an accurate capture of the intent of donors.

As a member of the Administrative function, the Data Specialist will assist with Accounts Payable by keying invoices to be paid and filing paid invoices. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

Supporting Customer Relationship Management and Pledge Review

  • Input of gift and pledge data per organizational procedures.
  • The input of daily receipts.
  • Assist customers with any questions or problems with corporate, employee and individual accounts.
  • Alert the VP of Admin if designation codes are not available to accurately capture the intent of donors.
  • Process pledges in an accurate and timely manner to support campaign reporting and execution.
  • If pledge information is not legible for any reason or is not within policy, take steps to clarify the information by a direct contact with the donor.   Collaborate with the VP of Admin as needed.
  • As requested by the VP of Admin, input data on market segments or other data points to support CRM efforts.

Accounts Payable Support:

  • Key approved invoices into acounting system for payments under the direction of the VP of Finance.
  • File paid invoices in the Accounts Payable files.

Operational Support:

  • Assist VP of Finance with filing, and other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Assist with answering of telephone and with visitor requests as needed.
  • Exhibit the highest ethical and moral values possible.
  • Participate in team meetings, staff meetings, staff retreats and trainings as needed.
  • As a  Tier Two (II) personnel and will report to United Way headquarters as soon as possible after a disaster
Educational Background: 
High School Diploma
Skills/Experience: 
  • Advanced training in data entry.  Knowledge of Access Software and Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel.
  • At least one year of experience in working with data entry as well as proficiency with various software packages (i.e. word-processing, spreadsheet and financial tracking software).

Requirements before Hire:

  • Proof and maintenance of a valid driver’s license
  • Proof and maintenance of vehicle insurance and reliable transportation
  • Must pass a criminal background check, drug screen and physical
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: Less than $20,000 per year
