We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Director to manage our growing CycleNation campaign within our San Diego Division .
CycleNation is a high-energy, experiential spin bike relay event that brings companies and individuals together to get brain and heart healthy through the power of cycling.
This position will successfully reach an overall fundraising goal of $600,000, achieved through corporate sponsorship and driving participant giving. In addition to leading CycleNation, this position will also be responsible for contributing management support to additional fundraising campaigns.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Identifying and recruiting a group of an influential, financially strong and inclusive volunteer leadership members to support campaign.
- Activating and motivating volunteer leadership team through their personal and corporate giving and influencing involvement and giving of others.
- Developing a year-round pipeline and cultivation plan for corporate accounts and donors.
- Driving new business development through sponsorship and corporate fundraising. High focus on developing relationships with new companies.
- Leading effective engagement strategies for CycleNation teams and participants.
- Managing peer-to-peer fundraising in participating CycleNation companies to help achieve revenue goals.
- Planning, managing and executing CycleNation event(s), and strategically evaluating campaign growth opportunities.
- Conducting community networking and outreach through 10+ face-to-face meetings on weekly basis with donors, volunteers and sponsor prospects
- Communicating timely with Senior Business Development Director, VP of Development and internal and external customers.
- Collaborating with communications and marketing staff to develop and manage event promotions and communications plans.
Skills/Experience:
- 3 years of experience within marketing, sales or fundraising fields
- 3 years of experience working with and managing volunteers and/or staff
- 3 years of experience with large event planning and management
- 3 years of experience in negotiating agreements and implementing sponsorship plans
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop collaborative working relationships internally and externally
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the c-suite level
- Knowledge of corporate and community networks
- Knowledge of AHA’s mission and programs
