The Finance & Data Director (FDD) oversees a full range of finance functions from bookkeeping to data and grants management, from financial analysis to reporting. The FDD provides the primary staff leadership for accounting, fiscal and donor data management, employee and onboarding and benefits management, tax reporting, information technology (IT), and facilities management. The systems developed and maintained underpin the smooth operation of the entire organization so that United Way of York County can effectively and efficiently deliver on its mission and achieve the goals of its current strategic plan.

- Fiscal Management: The Finance & Data Director maintains effective and efficient internal fiscal management systems and controls to ensure compliance with management best practices, donor requirements, and current legal, GAAP, and UWW standards. In conjunction with the President & CEO and Finance Committee, the FDD develops annual budgets to carry out priorities of the current Strategic Plan, monitors progress against identified financial measures, and produces regular and as-needed reports on financial results for internal and external audiences.
- Data Integrity Management: The Finance & Data Director maintains and enhances the integrity of an effective and efficient CRM data base using proprietary software (Andar). This position has overall responsibility for the refinement and enforcement of existing data protocols and standards for all resulting records of individuals, organizations, and their interactions on behalf of UWYC. The FDD advises other staff members in their use of the data, and directs staff and skilled volunteers who maintain the system. The FDD has sole responsibility for the financial data, which serves as a secondary ledger for the financial accounting system.
- Technology & Facilities Management: The Finance & Data Director has primary responsibility for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of the technology used by all staff and volunteers for daily office functions. Working closely with the landlord’s representative, the FDD manages all aspects of UWYC’s rented facilities using cost-effective and safety-driven measures.
- 10+ years of fiscal and data management experience with increasing levels of responsibility, a portion preferably in non-profit organization(s)
- Relevant experience with or exposure to technology and facilities management
- Some experience with or exposure to human resources management a plus
- 3+ years of supervisory experience
- Demonstrated mission-driven approach to daily work reflecting organizational values
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple workflows to deliver accurate and timely results in rapidly changing environments
- Proven ability to work with committees and skilled volunteers as collaborator, staff liaison, and/or supervisor as appropriate
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a supportive team member
- Strategic thinker who can also translate high-level goals into detailed organizational work plans
- Outstanding computer skills. Demonstrated experience and comfort using CRM software (Andar preferred) and Microsoft Office apps in a Windows cloud-based environment. Experience on both PCs and Macintoshes preferred. Demonstrated ability both to use technology for professional use and to teach others required.
