The Senior Master Trainer will assist FHI 360 in imparting the Infant and Young Child Nutrition (IYCN) provincial . She will work closely the provincial (PNO, nutrition counselors training officers, the extenders, the BPHS officers). She will report to Nutrition Manager.She will provide the needed support in cascading of IYCN training in (Kabul, Parwan, Kapisa, Panjshir, Lagman, Wardak, Ghazni, , , Helmand, , Khost, , Logar, Nimroz, Herat, Daikundi, Baglan, Balkh, Jawzjan, Saripul, Faryab, and Takhar).
The incumbent will support the Senior Nutrition Manager in performing the following tasks:
- Ensuring the active coordination of IYCN training and mentoring with the all relevant partners
- Working closely with the central PND and the provincial nutrition team to conduct the TOT, plan for cascading the IYCN training at the provincial level and conducting the Health facilities mentoring
- Establishing working relationships with the PNOs, nutrition extenders, and BPHS nutrition officers
- Assisting in the record, follow up and reporting of coordination relevant action points to the IYCN
- Development of monthly training plan in close coordination with the FHI 360, and the PND nutrition team at the national and provincial level
- Implementation of IYCN training in accordance with the agreed timeline
- Ensuring the quality of training through a structured guide ( checklist)
- Post-training mentoring through field visits and observation
- Facilitating the training with the PND and FHI360 nutrition team using the agreed approach and methodology
- Ensuring pre and post-test or evaluation of trainees in regard to assessing the training efficiency and efficacy
- Ensuring training documentation (agenda, attendance sheet, financial expenses, etc.)
- Development and submission of training report to PNO and FHI360
- Development of monthly mentoring plan in close coordination with the provincial nutrition team (PNO, nutrition extenders, BPHS nutrition officer )
- Implementation of the mentoring plan in close coordination with the provincial nutrition team
- Using the agreed checklist for the mentoring of the health facilities relevant staff
- Ensuring equal mentoring visits to health facilities
- Development of reports, and submission of the report to PNO and FHI 360
- Make sure that all the monthly activities are recorded and compiled as a report
- Submission of the report at the agreed time (see the standard operation procedure)
- Shares and reports on new lessons learned (from the field) with the team
- Any other relevant tasks assigned by the supervisor
- At least two years of work experience in nutrition
- At least two years of experience in similar positions (capacity building)
- Working knowledge of computer (MS office)
- Basic Knowledge English language skills (Verbal/Written)
- Good local languages skills (Pashto and Dari) as required.
