The American Heart Association is where you can make an extraordinary impact. We are looking for a temporary Administrative Associate in our Irving office to support our hardworking Heart Walk team. This temporary position will work a maximum of 37.5 hours per week starting July 30, 2018 through approximately September 28, 2018 .Your schedule will be 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at $16.00 an hour.

You may be asking yourself how does an Administrative Associate make an extraordinary impact? Great question! Well, this position will provide administrative support to our Heart Walk team who works tirelessly in our communities to raise funds and awareness. Our Heart Walk team can’t do the vital work they do without the help of a great person, preparing documents and reports, maintaining records and coordinating meetings, plus any other assigned work. This position may also work with our volunteers who help with events throughout the year, so we are looking for a great multi-tasker who can do it all with a great attitude and who likes to work in a busy environment.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Facilitate all money needs while adhering to American Heart Association policies to ensure an efficient accounting and reporting environment
  • Responsible for accurate reporting on monies exchanged from employees at the end of each day/event including checks, cash and coins
  • Adhere to money handling procedures and policies
  • Report issues and discrepancies to management immediately
  • Participates in the planning and execution of programs
  • Develops, coordinates, and maintains record keeping and filing systems for their area of responsibility.
  • Other duties and tasks as assigned by manager
Educational Background: 
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Previous high-volume cash handling experience required
  • Previous experience as a bank teller a plus
  • Must display the utmost integrity due to handling large sums of cash
  • Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Basic math and counting skills required
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Office 2013 (Word, Excel, Outlook). Will be tested
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs from ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
