SparkPoint OC Financial Empowerment Centers (SparkPoint) help families create step-by-step personal finance plans to tackle their specific needs. Because change does not happen overnight, SparkPoint commits to working with clients for up to three years to achieve their financial goals in a one-on-one coaching manner. SparkPoint services focus on four areas: improving credit, increasing income, building assets and increasing financial literacy. By providing access to a full range of free financial resources and coaches, hard-working, low-income families have a path to escape financial hardship and attain self-sufficiency.
The Income Manager will oversee existing centers, plan and implement the expansion of new centers and will work with other United Way departments to create and deploy a marketing plan, fundraise, and achieve programmatic results. Additionally, this position will be the lead trainer for new staff and case managers. This position will create a central repository for SparkPoint institutional knowledge and data within the OC United Way office. The goal is to maintain high-quality and effective service, while aligning SparkPoint centers with proven best practices and creating long-term sustainability for this key community service.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversight of all SparkPoint Centers
- Develop the overall annual SparkPoint workplans and timelines
- Manage and coordinate all SparkPoint partner relationships and implement systems to keep communications current and efficient, and recruit new partners as needed
- Serve as staff liaison to program funders, donors and vendors and coordinate site visits and tours
- Technical Support for SparkPoint case managers
- Research and implementation of all new SparkPoint centers
- Coordinate SparkPoint outcome tracking and reporting
- Promote, coordinate and monitor all SparkPoint partners’ efforts to achieve goals
- Oversee case management software tools and work to address any barriers
- Oversee implementation of new data tracking system
- Work with each SparkPoint center to develop targeted marketing materials
- Create and manage SparkPoint volunteer activities in partnership with the Volunteer Coordinator
- Serve as program representative at key community meetings and national conferences
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate files, reports and budgets
- Prepare reports for leadership
- 5+ years of direct project/program management experience in the housing or financial capability arena, which may include affordable housing, homeless services, workforce development, financial education, financial coaching and asset building
- Proven leader with ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders - including local government, financial and educational institutions, businesses, community-based organizations and groups
- Experience with conceptualization and implementation of marketing efforts
- Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, with proven results
- Experience managing a team (staff or volunteers)
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
