Responsible for providing support to affiliate teams in health strategies related resources, programs development, communications and training related to various AHA health and community impact assets. Support the coordination and implementation of projects with the Vice President Community Impact based on public health awareness through partnerships with integrated market teams, local agencies, and community service organizations.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Provides information, consultation and data interpretation. Manages reporting tools and data quality platforms for health impact affiliate team.
- Participates in internal affiliate team meetings to support the execution of programs and cause campaigns. Provides support for affiliate team and/or delivers assigned health related community programs which may include one or more of the following: research health impact awards/requirements, collective impact strategies and outcomes, multi-cultural healthy lifestyle awareness and education, healthy choices nutritional education or other related AHA sponsored community-based programs.
- Assist VP and Senior Director with expense management, reporting and reimbursement. Manage calendars and coordinate travel and schedule for VP and Senior Director, as well as, Health Strategies team meetings, as requested.
- Coordinate learning among affiliate community impact team administrative and specialist staff
- May coordinate grant applications, reports, as well as internal/external reporting documents. Coordinate internal reporting processes, platforms and share point sites for affiliate community impact team.
- Serves as an AHA representative with key community organizations and partnerships. Plans and coordinates volunteer and committee meetings including preparing agenda and presentations. Assists in the management of multiple volunteer groups associated with assigned health focused program. Makes site visits within region as required.
- Aids with creation and production of materials for campaigns, events and programs. Promotes AHA's programs online or through local activities. Develops brochures and flyers to market assigned program.
- Monitors national, state and local health trends to inform Health Strategies staff of potential partnerships as well as funding and program opportunities. Helps VP and Directors in fund development pursuits for Health Strategies programs from foundations, individuals and/or corporations.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Health Sciences or related area, or equivalent work experience
Skills/Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience supporting health impact teams and programs
- Knowledge and experience with health program education and awareness, community groups and influencers
- Excellent written/oral communication skills, as well as demonstrated skills in consultation and meetings management
- Expertise in creating documents in MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual preferred but not required
