Auction Corporate Development Director, Heart Ball

We have an excellent opportunity for an Auction Development Director - Houston Heart Ball due to Association growth in our Houston, TX office. You will have to be high energy, be competitive, and an achievement driven individual to focus on our Houston Heart Ball event. You are responsible for leading this major part of revenue generation for the Heart Ball campaign! You have a $850k goal for total Auction Procurement with a $550k revenue and sponsorship goal. The event on February 15, 2020 requires you to have experience with large fundraising goals and large events.If you have a strong fundraising or outside sales background where you traveled in an assigned territory OR if you have an event coordination background coupled with sales or fundraising, we want to hear from you!

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Revenue generation and volunteer management for the Houston Heart Ball
  • Create a 12-month calendar on how to achieve procurement goal, working with Heart Ball team on each milestone that is set
  • Solicit and build out exciting high-end live and silent auction packages to maximize revenue growth
  • Oversee Auction and Wine Auction Committee and develop relationships with key volunteers, sponsors and community leaders
  • Manage and run all logistics for the auction leading up to and during and post Heart Ball
  • Conduct sales calls to generate new business and manage existing companies
  • Solicit and confirm Life is Why We Give Campaigns with retailers to drive revenue
  • Auction procurement will include a small wrap-around event in Fort Bend County
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred. College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Related experience may be substituted as follows: 1½ years’ experience equates to 1 full time year of higher education.
  • 2+ years of experience in fundraising, outside sales or in a non-profit organization in a similar capacity. This experience may also count towards satisfying this position’s educational requirement.
  • Able to lift at least 20 lbs. from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Successful experience with Executive Leadership recruitment.
  • Intermediate knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office used for word processing, email, presentations, and spreadsheets.
  • Attract, recruit, manage and evaluate high-level volunteers.
  • Read, comprehend and analyze number goals, as well as fund-raising reports.
  • Ability to work evenings/weekends when necessary and travel approximately 75% local daily travel.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
