Associate Director Development, GRFW

We have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Director Development, Go Red For Women in our Houston office. This position manages all campaign activities, event budgets and fundraising activities for the Shop With Heart Card. Fundraising goal for this position is $200,000.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Interact with corporate contacts and volunteers via the phone and face to face.
  • Ability to close face to face outside corporate sales and/or sponsorships.
  • Strong relationship building skills with demonstrated ability to provide a high level of customer service, leadership and motivation to business and social leaders.
  • Assist in event/sponsorship activation.
  • Organize AHA account team contacts, sponsorship contacts, proposals, letters of agreement, sponsorship payments, presentations, and benefits delivered.
  • Perform administrative work to include file maintenance, data collection, data entry, and report generation (i.e. gross/net income and completed events), processing expense vouchers, managing check requisition process, and processing invoices.
  • Data entry and tracking Corporate Relations activities in Dynamics and Luminate.
  • Coordinate all event logistics.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred. College coursework combined with related experience may be substituted for a degree.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Related experience may be substituted as follows: 1 ½ years ’ experience equates to 1 full time year of higher education.
  • 1+ year of experience in a similar role. This experience may also count towards satisfying this position’s educational requirement.
  • Able to lift at least 20 lbs from the ground to waist level with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of meeting management.
  • Excellent verbal and written business communications skills.
  • Ability to anticipate and satisfy customer needs; to work independently and take initiative; to creatively and effectively solve problems; to meet and interact with all levels of AHA staff and volunteers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, required knowledge of Greater Giving or similar donor database programs.
  • Ability to work evenings/weekends when necessary.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • AHA is a non-smoking environment.
