The Director of Community Impact position is responsible for working towards achieving long lasting, meaningful community impact in Forrest, Lamar, Marion and Perry counties through the development of relationships, building of partnerships and the engagement of volunteers. He/she will be responsible for refining and implementing education priorities, strategies and initiatives to build on member agency and community assets that address needs and barriers in education, and is passionate about moving forward United Way of Southeast Mississippi’s work in Early Childhood Education and Grade Level Reading. He/she will also focus on the organization's other strategic priorities in health and financial stability. The position is also responsible for overseeing the process of fund distribution, funded agency support, community research and community collaboration development.
- Facilitate the development, maintenance and monitoring of the UWSEMS Community Impact strategy.
- Continually explore ways to bring new resources to bear to address impact areas.
- Cultivate and maintain long-term, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with others, providing leadership to community efforts as needed.
- Provide positive, quality leadership to volunteers, staff, donors and community.
- Oversee the funding process (Community Partner & Impact Grant) including grant development, distribution, technical assistance, collection and communication.
- Assure and maintain a strong implementation and understanding of outcome measurement principles and practice, including training and support of agencies and volunteers, integrating outcome measurements within the funding process, and analyzing the impact of outcome measurement in achieving organizational mission and strategic goals.
- Support the President/CEO in advocacy, strategy and community efforts.
- Assist in the development of marketing messages.
- Conduct regular presentations to key community groups, executives, employees and other special interest groups
- Participate constructively in the major United Way events.
- Minimum of three years related experience in human services, education, or community development.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and responsibilities concurrently.
- High energy, results oriented.
- Well organized, strong on follow-through.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Office setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. Frequent off-site meetings and events are also a component of this position.
- Based on work plan of the agency, position often requires work beyond traditional hours of employment.
- Valid driver’s license and use of own vehicle (with valid insurance coverage) for UWSEMS business.

Salary: $31,000 to $40,000 per year
